Welcome

Thanks for visiting my website!

I am a writer and editor, a faithful champion of clear prose, a broad vocabulary and proper grammar in the service of original stories. I live in Los Angeles with my husband and son.

I edit nonfiction books as well as novels and shorter pieces and have been an on-staff editor at a variety of publications: Editor in Chief of Living Fit magazine, Managing Editor at VIV, City Editor at The Orange County Register, Special Projects Editor for Family Circle magazine, to name a few.

As a nonfiction writer, my interests are eclectic. Published pieces include a feature about the perils of cell phone use while parenting for Los Angeles Times; the dangers of not being vaccinated for GOOD magazine; the beauty of wooden boats for Coast; advances in heart surgeries for OC Catholic; couples who don't have sex for Los Angeles Magazine, as well as others.

For more details about my work, take a look around this site.

"[God’s Messenger] wonderfully portrays Cabrini’s cheerful pluck and courage ... Cabrini’s many devotees around the world will likely love the author’s work here ... An often engaging, lightly fictionalized life of America’s first saint.”

 — Kirkus Reviews

My recent fictional biography of the Italian nun, Frances X. Cabrini, who journeyed by sea from Italy to New York City in 1889 to advocate for poor Italian immigrants, was a fascinating project. Defying powerful men in and out of the church, she  established orphanages, schools and hospitals all over the world.

The book is available through the Mentoris Project.
